Question 394630: I am trying to graph a function and I understand how to solve it. What I do not understand is knowing what number to plot for example F(x)=-3x. I am not sure how to determine which number I use to solve the formula. Please help I am failing this class. How do you determine what numbers to plug into the function I can graph it and solve it but do not understand what numbers to use.

Some numbers are easier to work with than other, but the
fact is you may choolse any numbers you want to.

An easy number to use is x= 0.
Then F(0) -3*0 = 0
So you have one point: (0,0)

Pick any other number you care to:
An easy number to use is x = 1.
Then F(1) = -3*1 = -3
So you have a 2nd point: (1,-3)

Plot those two points and draw a line thru them to get:
