Hi,
*Note: y = mx + b is the slope intercept form, where m is the slope and b the y-intercept (the value of y where the line crosses the y-axis)
.
-3x=-20+4y
.
solve for y
y = (-3/4)x + 20/4
.
y = (-3/4)x + 5 (slope is -3/4 and the y-intercept is 5) (0,5) a pt on the line.
.
Find x intercept ( value of x when y = 0)
0 = (-3/4)x + 5
x = (4/3)*5
x = 20/3
Pt(20/3 , 0) is where the line crosses the x-axis
