You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graphing these three points we find the slope and the y intercept which give us the values for the equation y=mx+b (m=slope) & b=the y intercept
Thus the slope is (ysub2-ysub1)/(xsub2-xsub1) or selecting any two points we get slope (2,4) & (6,-4) we get slope=(-4-4)/(6-2) or -8/4 or -2 for the slope (m).
By drawing a line through these three points we get the y intercept @ y=8
Now we have y=-2x+8 for the equation for these three points.
The proof is in substituting all three sets of points into this equation and solving it.
