Y=mX+b m=slope & b=the Y intercept.
Slope=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
Slope=(3-5)/(0-4)
Slope=-2/-4
Slope=1/2=.5
5=.5*4+b
5=2+b
b=5-2
b=3 ans. for the Y intercept.
y=.5x+3 ans. for the line through (4,5) & (0,3)
Proof:
