Question 288231: a line passing through (15,19) and (10,y) is parallel to a line with slope 2. What is the value of y?

A line parallel to a line with slope = 2 will also have slope = 2
Using the point-slope formula:
y-y1 = m(x-x1)
y - 19 = 2(10-15)
y -19 = -10
y = 9
Done.
