Question 262671: Ordered pairs (0,2), (4,0), and (-4,0) are points on a circle. What is the radius of the circle, and what is the center point of the circle.
I don't want to be given the answer directly, I just want to know what formulas I should be using to solve this problem. I have tried using the distance formula to get the distance between (0,2) and either of the x intercepts. I tried finding the Y intercepts by replacing both X points in the circle equation, where (k,h) is the midpoint of the circle and r is the radius. I just need to figure out what the other y intercept is and I can answer the question, but I don't know how to figure it out. Please help.
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
So what did you get when you used the distance formula?

This shows you how to do it on paper you have to do it with algebra.
