Graph this equation and identify the y interceptor.
x + 5y = 20
5y = -x + 20
y = (-1/5)x + 4
-------------------------
Let x = 0, then y = 4 (y-intercept)
Let x = 5, then y = 3
----
Plot the points (0,4) and (5,3)
and draw a line thru them.

In the USA it is called the y intercept.
Put the equation in the slope intercept for y=mx+b
x+5y=20
5y=-x+20
y=-x/5+4
4 is the y intercept.
When x=0 then y=4
also choose
from the original equation we see
when y=0 x=20
