Question 258143: I'm very confused about how to solve to find the missing coordinate when the slope is given.
I'm getting mixed up in the steps to solve this and could use a run down of the steps involved.
m=3/4, (-2,0) (5,?)
Thank You so much in advance!

Answer by drk(1908)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The slope formula is
(i)
we are given
m = 3/4
(x1,y1) = (-2,0)
(x2,y2) = (5,?)
we can put everything in except y2. From (i) we get
(ii)
be careful about your signs.
simplifying (ii) we get
(iii)
cross multiply to get
(iv)
finally dividing, we get

This is the missing part.
