You can put this solution on YOUR website!
quadrant 3

quadrant 1 is top right where x and y are both greater than 0.

quadrant 2 is top left where x is negative and y is positive.

quadrant 3 is bottom left where x is negative and y is negative.

quadrant 4 is bottom right where x is positive and y is negative.

just draw a vertical and horizontal line and you will see where the quadrants lie.

label your axes + and - and you'll see the negative positive relationships.

the center of the graph is the 0 point.
x is along the horizontal direction.
y is along the vertical direction.
x-axis is the horizontal line in the middle.
y-axis is the vertical line in the middle.
any value of x to the right of the y-axis is positive.
any value of x to the left of the y-axis is negative.
any value of y above the x-axis is positive.
any value of y below the x-axis is negative.

in quadrant 3, x is to the left of the y-axis and is therefore negative.
in quadrant 3, y is below the x-axis and is therefore negative.
