Translate point D(-3,-5) to the right 4 units and down 3 units. What are the coordinates of the image of D?
i tried to do this problem and i got (9,5) but i think it's wrong because when i looked at it on the graph it looked wrong.

I'm no sure what you're doing, but if you want to move the point to the right 4 units and down 3 units, then the new point will be at (1,-8)

(x,y) = (-3,-5)

(x+4,y-3) = (-3+4,-5-3) = (1,-8)

Along the x-axis, going to the right is adding units and going to the left is subtracting units.

Along the y-axis, going up is adding units and going down is subtracting units.
