Would you rather have a kilometer of quarters or a kilometer of dimes? (in a straight line, with the heads up). How much better is your choice?
------------------
Check "coin size US" on Google. A dime is 17.91 mm in dia. A quarter is 24.3 mm.
A km of dimes --> 1,000,000/17.91 = 55,834 dimes, or $5,583.40
A km of quarters --> 1,000,000/24.3 = 41,152 quarters, or $10,288.
With the quarters, you get $4,704.60 more money, but the quarters weigh 106.6 kg more, so if you have to carry it, the dimes might be a better deal.
The question asked "better", which is not a well defined parameter.
