What was the "equation", "graph", or problem? We need to see that.
Based on your "subject" reference to "coordinate system", I assume you have a graph.
To find the "intercept", simply look along the y-axis. Wherever the line crosses it, that will be your y-intercept. AND, the coordinates for x HAS to be 0. Therefore, I would suspect that your coordinates are (0,-6)

If you want the x-intercept, you would want y to be zero (since the x-intercept is whatever x is when y is zero). So whichever coordinates in the graph that have y as zero would be x-intercepts. Therefore, your x-intercept would be (-6,0)
