Question 108597: Find the slope of the line that contains the point 8,-6 with a y-intercept of 4
The possible answers that where given are 4, 1/4, -5/4, -5/2 so it is one of these, I'm just not sure how to figure it.

Answer by checkley71(8403)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Y=mX+b WHERE m=SLOPE & b=Y INTERCEPT.
-6=8m+4
8m=-6-4
8m=-10
m=-10/8
m=-5/4 THIS IS THE SLOPE OF THIS LINE.
