Question 1060018: What is the graph for linear equation:
5x-15y+3=0

We need to get this equation into slope-intercept form, y = mx + b.
Get everything except for "y" to the right side.
First, subtract 3 from both sides.
5x - 15y = -3
you do not need to write 0 - 3 here since 0 - 3 is -3.
Subtract 5x from both sides.
-15y = -5x - 3
Divide by -15 on both sides.
y = (-5/-15)x - 3/-15
Simplify.
y = 1/3x + 1/5
This is now in y = mx + b form.
1/3 is our slope.
1/5 is our y-intercept.

First, plot the y-intercept (0,1/5) on a graph.
Then, use the slope rise/run to plot more points.
Go up one from the y-intercept and over to the right 3. Graph another point. Repeat until you run out of room.
Return to the y-intercept and do the OPPOSITE OF THE SLOPE to graph more points. Go down one and over to the left three. Graph another point. Repeat until your line is completed.
