I need to find the area of a figure shaped like an ice cream cone. The top (semicircle) is 6m. The figure shows an arc in the semicircle (I'm not real sure about the importance of that). And the bottom of the "cone" is 8m.
If you can make sense of this, I would greatly appreciate any help!!!!!

Question 259224: Hi! I am doing a lesson in my Geometry Book on Finding Arc Lengths and Areas of Sectors of Circles. In my book it only gives me the equations on how to do this and it shows me how to put the numbers into the equations, but then it shows me the answer. It does not show me how to get the answer. What do I do inbetween substituting the radius and the arc measure into the equation and stating the answer?
