Question 131013: A cow is tethered to one corner of a square barn, 10 feet by 10 feet, with a rope 100ft long. What is the maximum grazing area for the cow. I know that the answer is 31,145.15 ft squared. I figured out that the left side of the circle has an area of 49348feet. the other semicircular shape - it is not a true semicircle- is split up into three four areas. a quarter circle on the bottom right, sector on the upper right a sector on the right side and a triangle between those two sectors.
please show all your work.
thank you!

Question 132152: Find the area of the circle.
Theres a square with a circle inside of it, but the cirlce is small enought to where you are still able to see the square. Only the corners of each side kind of like a triangel but where its not straight on the bottom, but rounded. You have to fing the area if the perimeter of square = 144 ft
What do you do? how do you find the area if you only have the perimeter and nothing else?
thank you, very much!

Question 134188: Find the area and perimeter of the shaded region.

note: The radius of the circle is 4.
What I've done:
I know you have to find the area of the small unshaded seg. by doing A seg. = Asec.-A triangle. Then you need to find the area of the semi-circle created by the shaded area and the segment. Then if you subtract the area of the segment from the area of the semi-circle you get the area of the shaded region. I just don't get how to find the area of the semi circle and I don't know what to input into the formula for finding the area of the SEGMENT.
I also have no clue how to find the perimeter of the shaded area!
PLEASE HELP!
