Question 855433: Please help me to solve this equation:
Graph each of the following:
(41)3x^2+12x+3y^2=63
Answer by lwsshak3(11628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x^2+12x+3y^2=63
complete the square:
3(x^2+4x+2)+3y^2=63+6
3(x+2)^2+3y^2=69
(x+2)^2+y^2=23
This is an equation of a circle with center at (-2,0) and radius=√23
Its standard form: (x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2, (h,k)=coordinates of center, r=radius
See graph below:
y=(23-(x+2)^2)^.5
