Question 595750: Find the area of the larger segment whose chord is 8" long in a circle with an 8" radius.(I'm guessing there are two segments? I have no idea, there is no diagram)
I'm working on an online geometry course and I'm given very little notes and no examples relate to this question. If I could see the work for this problem, I believe I could definitely try to solve the rest of my homework.

an 8" chord in a circle with an 8" radius produces an equilateral triangle, with a vertex at the center of the circle
this means that the central angle of the segment is 60º (1/6 of the circle)
however, the question specifies the "larger" segment; which is the other 5/6 of the circle
