Area of the bottom of the cylinder:
(pi)r^2
where
pi is 3.14
r is radius
.
The biggest radius would be half the 48 ft thus
r = 24 feet
.
Area of bottom of cylinder:
(pi)r^2
(3.14)24^2
1808.64 square feet
