Question 132152: Find the area of the circle.
Theres a square with a circle inside of it, but the cirlce is small enought to where you are still able to see the square. Only the corners of each side kind of like a triangel but where its not straight on the bottom, but rounded. You have to fing the area if the perimeter of square = 144 ft
What do you do? how do you find the area if you only have the perimeter and nothing else?

thank you, very much!

Is this a circle inscribed inside a square? If you draw a diameter of the circle straight up the middle of the circle, would the diameter of the circle be the same as the side of the square??? Is the problem to find the area that amounts to being just the corners of the square that are outside the circle???

If not, then send me an Email or repost the problem. If I am correct, then the side of the square is 144/4 =36 ft. The area of the square = 36^2.

The circle has a diameter of 36 feet, so the radius of the circle is 18 feet. The area of the circle is

The area outside the circle=.

I would calculate this for you, but I'm on vacation away from home for Spring Break and I left my calculator home!!
