Question 1205275: 1. OR is tangent to circle O at P.
If OP = 7 cm and PQ = 24 cm, then OQ = ?

1. OR (I'm sure "OR" was a typo and you meant PQ) is tangent to circle O at P.
If OP = 7 cm and PQ = 24 cm, then OQ = ?

You know that angle OPQ is a right angle because a tangent is perpendictular
to a radius drawn to the point of tangency. So triangle OPQ is a right
triangle, and you may use the Pythagorean theorem to find the hypotenuse OQ.
