Hi there,
Distance around a circle = circumference.
Circumference = π x diameter
2.4 = π x diameter
Diameter = 2.4/π
Diameter = 0.764km (3 decimal places)
Radius = Diameter/2
Radius = 0.764/2
Radius = 0.382km (3 decimal places)
Area of circle = π x radius^2
Area = π x 0.382^2
Area = 0.458 km^2
0.458 x 100 = 45.8 hectares.
Hope this helps :-)
