Hi,
.
V(L)/V(s) = = 16 smaller spheres can be made from the larger sphere

The larger sphere is of radius 8cm and is a metal. It is melted down and made into spheres of radius 2 cm. Smaller spheres are of radius 2 cm. How many of the smaller spheres can be made from the larger sphere?
------------
You can calculate the 2 volumes and divide to get 64 2" spheres.

---
Or, use the fact that volume is a function of the cube of the radius.
Vol = k*r^3 (k is a constant)
8 = 4*2 --> 4^3 = 64 2" spheres.
