Question 257291: This is kind of new for me to complete this type of problem, so I need some help. Factoring : Finding GCF/Reverse FOIL (Quadratic - 2 binomials) 8y^3 + 2y - 4y^2 Okay, this is my thinking. I know that 2 is the greatest common factor. I also know that y is in all three, but the lowest is just y^1, so my greatest common factor is going to be 2y I don't know how to explain this, but I'll try: 2y ( 4y^2 + 1 - 2y) I put the greatest common factor on the outer parenthesis. Then I figured out what numbers I need to reach to know what numbers I would have to put inside the parenthesis. This is a little confusing for me. Please help me if you can.
