Question 253845: The interior dimensions of a carton in the shape of a rectangular prism are
2 ft by 1ft by 1 1/2 feet.
How many boxes, each in the shape of a cube with 1-inch edges, will fit inside
the carton?
I think the answer is 36 cubes, but I want to make sure.
the volume = lxwxh, so the volume would be 3 cubic feet. Then I thought that
there would be 36 inches in 3 feet so maybe the answer was 36 cubes.

Question 253869: Study the terms in this trinomial.
28x(cubed)- 14x(squared) + 7x
Part A
Write the polynomial as the product of the GCF of all its terms and a polynomial.
I know that the GCF is 7x
I don't know if I should put my answer as
7x(4x squared - 2x + 1) or if I should eliminate the x on the outer part
of the parenthesis and put
7(4x cubed - 2x + 1

I'm sorry I don't know how to type the exponents without spelling it out.
I really want to get this one exactly right.

Question 257291: This is kind of new for me to complete this type of problem, so I need some
help.

Factoring : Finding GCF/Reverse FOIL (Quadratic - 2 binomials)

8y^3 + 2y - 4y^2
Okay, this is my thinking.
I know that 2 is the greatest common factor.
I also know that y is in all three, but the lowest is just y^1, so
my greatest common factor is going to be 2y
I don't know how to explain this, but I'll try:
2y ( 4y^2 + 1 - 2y)
I put the greatest common factor on the outer parenthesis. Then
I figured out what numbers I need to reach to know what numbers I would
have to put inside the parenthesis.
This is a little confusing for me. Please help me if you can.
