Question 183117: this one has me stumped. I don't know why, I usually can get averages, but my mind is stuck here:
8. The final grade for a particular course is calculated by dividing total points earned by total points available. There are 120 points available in the first half of the course, and 140 points in the second half of the course. If a student earns 81% in the first half of the course, how many points must the student earn in the second half in order to earn an 80% B final grade?

i have piecewise functions: g(x) = 7+x for x<5
= 7-x for x>=5
all I have to do is replace 6 for x?
So i would have g(6) - 7+6 = 13 and g(6) = 7-6=1

I2x-7I<=9 (The 2x-7 is also absolute value)
When solving it and leaving absolute value out, does 2x-7 and 5-8x change to 2x+7 since everything coming from absolute value is positive?
