Question 569356: Ok, my son is has a problem in Algebra, he is in the 9th grade. I can get the answer for him but he need to write it in algebra terms. I never took algebra in school, so if I can tell you the question. can you please tell me how to write it in algebra terms.
Mike just got a phone bill for $27.60. he is charge $.07 per minute for local calls and $.20 for long distance calls. he talked for a total of 320 minutes. How many long distance minutes did he use?
It sounds just like a typical story problem and easy to solve but feel bad that I can't put it in Algebra form

Question 572492: To get an A in a course, you must have an average at least 90 points for qty 4 tests. The first 3 test are worth 100 points and the 4th test is also worth 100 points (but it is worth double or counted twice). For the first three test your scores are 87, 92, and 84. What must you score on the final test to receive an A (a 90% or greater average)? Hint: This is equivalent to qty 5 test where you need to score 5 x 90 points or 450 points when adding the five scores (the last test is counted twice).
