Question 922566: I have a 75 in my math class right now, there are 1,000 points total for the class in the semester. I took my final exam and it was worth 200 points. I got %78 on the final. What is my final grade?

Let x = overall grade (in decimal form)

The final is worth 200/1000 = 20% of your overall grade. Everything else is 100 - 20 = 80% of your grade

80% of other stuff + 20% of final = overall grade

0.80*0.75 + 0.20*0.78 = x

0.756 = x

x = 0.756

0.756 = 0.756*(100%) = 75.6%

Your overall grade is 75.6%
