Question 895939: Suppose 108 people took the final exam in a math class. If 18 people got an A on the final exam, what fraction of the students did not get an A on the exam? Write your answer in lowest terms

so if you are asking for the fraction of how much people did not get an A then u can take 108 - 18 = 90 which gets u how much students did not get an A then a fraction is going to be 90/108 which can be simplified to 10/12 because both numbers go into 9 (in other words both 90 and 108 are dividable by 9) and then can be simplified even more because 10 and 12 are also dividable by 2, which will give you the fraction 5/6. so 5/6 of the students did not get an A on the exam. Hope this helps.
