Question 883006: Please help me solve the equation of Twice the sum of -2 and a number is the same as the number decreased by 1/2. Find the number:
2 (-2+x)=x-1/2; 2(-2x)=x-1/2; 4x=x-1/2; and that's as far as I can get. I know the answer is 7/2, but I don't know how to get that? HELP thank you!
