Question 878919: If you have averaged 79 points over 6 tests how many more points would you have to score in the next test to raise to an average of 80
Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Total number of points possible = 700 (6 tests plus one yet to be taken)
Total number scored thus far = 79 * 6, or 474
Number of points necessary for an average of 80 = 80*700, or 560
Subtract the number of points earned from the number desired.
560-474 = 86 on the next test to have an 80 average
