Question 866616: A motor cycle and a truck left a roadside diner at the same time. After traveling in the same direction for one and a quarter hours, the motor cycle had traveled 25km farther than the truck. If the average speed of the motorcycle was 60km/hr, find the average speed of the truck.
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
speed of truck = x
time = 1.25 hours
distance by truck = 1.25x
speed of motorbike = 60 km/h
time = 60*1.25
=75 km
75-1.25x=25
50 = 1.25x
50/1.25 = x
40 km/h... speed of truck
