You can put this solution on YOUR website!
That depends on how the teacher grades the class. Teachers usually break the class grade down into components like test grades, homework grades, quiz grades, project grades, etc. And each type of grade has a different percent of you total grade that it's worth. So for example, the test grades might be 50% of your grade, it might be 60% of your grade it might be 45% of your grade. Homeworks might make up a smaller percentage of your grade, say between 5-20% of your grade. To figure out your grade the teachers first take the average of your grades for tests for example, so if your average for your tests is 84% and tests are worth 50% of your grade for that quarter or semester, then 42% of your grade for that time will come from your tests (like 50 is 1/2 of 100, 42 is 1/2 of 84), but even if you get 100 in everything else, the most you can get is a 92 because you missed 8 percentage points (100 -84)/2 = 8 because your test scores averaged out to be 84.
The other thing teachers do is preplan every assignment that they will give you and assign a certain number of points for each one. In that case, your grade for one assignment (like the test) will be out of the total number of points you can get in the class.
What does your syllabus say?
If you're taking a year long course with 4 quarters, a midterm and a final, your final grade will be calculated by averaging your quarter grades, then averaging your midterm and your final grades usually, assigning a weight to your quartely grades and a different weight (percentage) to your midtrem and final grades to figure out your overall grade for that class for the year.
