For a certain set of five numbers, the mean of all but the largest number is 80, and the mean of all but the smallest number is 90. What is the range of the set of five numbers?
======
Numbers: a,b.c.d.e
-------
Equations:
(a+b+c+d)/4 = 80
-------
(b+c+d+e)/4 = 90
-------
Modify:
a + b + c + d = 320
b + c + d + e = 360
--------------
Note: max - min = range
--------------
Subtract to get:
e-a = 40 (that is the range of the numbers)
