Question 759506: In an examination the average mark for the first five students was 86 and of the first six 85. What was the sixth persons mark gained???
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
average mark for first five students = 86
Therefore 5 * 86 = 430 marks in total.
Average mark for first six students = 85
Therefore 6 * 85 = 510 marks in total
510 - 430 = 80 this what the sixth person gained.
Hope this helps.
