The cashier informed the waiter of this error and gave in $5 to return to the sisters. On the way back to the table, the waiter decided to keep $2 and return $1 to each sister.
If each sister received $1 back, then each paid $10 - $1, or $9 for dinner, which is a total of $27! The waiter kept $2 which yields a total of $29! Where is the missing dollar?

If the total bill was $25, then each should have paid 25/3 = $8.33, so each should have gotten 10-8.33 = $1.67 back, they each got only $1, short changed 67 cents,
