Question 684038: 3x+y=95,
x+y=29

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 x + 1 y = 95 .............1

1 x + 1 y = 29 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -1
Multiply (2) by 1
-3 x -1 y = -95
1 x + 1 y = 29
Add the two equations
-2 x = -66
/ -2
x = 33
plug value of x in (1)
3 x + 1 y = 95
99 + y = 95
y = 95
y = -4
y = -4
x= 33
y= -4
