A chemistry experiment calls for 20% solution of copper sulfate. Kim has 28
milliliters of 25% solution. How many milliliters of 10% solution should she
add to obtain the required 20% solution?
------------------------
sulfate + sulfate = sulfate
0.25*28 + 0.10x = 0.20(28+x)
----
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
25*28 + 10x = 20*28 + 20x
10x = 5*28
x = 14 ml (amt. of 10% solutioin needed)
-----------------------
