Question 556971: This a real life question that is mathematical. My Honors English II class is graded based off of percentages and weights. If you take a look at this screenshot (which displays the chart that shows my grades for this class. It's very organized and self-explanatory) My grade to date is a 90.74 (A-). Understanding how the class is broken up by its percentages and weights as shown in the screenshot, what grade do I need to get on my next narrative (which would be placed under "Major Writing Assignments" and worth a 100 points like the last narrative grade was) to get a 93 or higher as my grade to date? I really hope this is possible to achieve. Let me know if it is or not. Thanks.

Here, x represents each grade and p(x) represents the proportion of that grade compared to your overall (e.g. the weight). I'll leave it for you to calculate, but you will definitely need above a 93, regardless of the weight of the next assignment.
