Question 502876: Hi, I need help please. Raquel is mixing lemon-lime soda and a fruit juice blend that is 45% juice. If she uses 3 quarts of soda, how many quarts of fruit juice must be added to produce punch that is 30% juice?

--------percent ---------------- quantity
soda 0 ---------------- 3 quarts
fruit juice 45 ---------------- x quarts
Mixture 30 ---------------- 3 + x quarts

0 * 3 + 45 x = 30 ( 3 + x )
0 + 45 x = 90 + 30 x
45 x + -30 x = 90 - 0
15 x = 90
/ 15
x = 6
6 quarts of 45 % fruit juice
