Can you please explain to me how to calculate Fahrenheit in a word problem. I have looked on the internet but it does not give a full explanation how to resolve a question that involves temperatures?
-----
Freezing temperatures: Celcius = 0, Farenheight = 32
Boiling temperatures: Celcius = 100, Farenheight = 212
-----
Generate two Equations:
C to F:
slope = (212-32)/(100-0) = 180/100 = 9/5
----
intercept: (0,32)
---
Equation:
F = (9/5)C + 32
=======================
Solve for "C":
F-32 = (9/5)C
C = (5/9)(F-32)
=========================
Those are the 2 conversion formulas.
