Question 41988: Can someone help me solve this problem?

Help me give the five-number summary of this set of numbers:
7, 7, 5, 4,1, 9, 8, 8, 8, 5, 2
Thank you,
Lyn

Answer by fractalier(6550)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First arrange them in ascending order...so we have
1, 2, 4, 5, 5, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9
A five number summary is
[min, 1st quartile, median, 3rd quartile, max]
Our median is 7, 1st Q is 4, 3rd Q is 8, so get
[1, 4, 7, 8, 9] as our five-number summary.
