Question 348384: find the median for the following numbers:
95, 98, 88, 91, 85, 94
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First sort the numbers into ascending order (from least to greatest):
85,88,91,94,95,98
To find the median, count off about 3 spaces (just take half of the size of the list, which is 6) from the beginning of the list until you hit the middle. Now count count off about 3 spaces from the end of the list until you hit the middle.
85, 88, , , 95, 98
Since the middle is in between the numbers 91 and 94, add them up and divide that sum by 2.
So the median is 92.5
