2s = sunflowers
3r = raisins
2s + 3r = 2900
r = s-400
--------------------
now replace what r = with r in the other equation;
2s + 3(s-400) = 2900
2s + 3s - 1200 = 2900
Collect like terms and add 1200 to both sides;
5s = 4100
divide by 5;
s = 820
Now we have s, lets find r;
2(820) + 3r = 2900
1640 + 3r = 2900
3r = 1260
r = 420
:)
