Question 189709: 1). Sandra drove for 148.2 miles and used 9.9 gallons of gas. Estimate the number of miles Sandra’s car gets per gallon.
2). Bob wants to have concrete driveway in front of his house. The driveway will measure 58 2/3 feet long and 18 1/2 feet wide; and will be 3/4 foot thick. How many cubic yards of cement will be needed for the driveway? Round your answer to the nearest cubic yard. [1 cubic yd = 27 cubic feet]
Can someone help me solve this question, I am totally confused. These are mixed number questions. I haven't done math is so many years, need a little help please.

1). Sandra drove for 148.2 miles and used 9.9 gallons of gas. Estimate the number of miles Sandra’s car gets per gallon.
Simply divide 148.2 by 9.9
148.2/9.9 = 14.9697
Or, 15 miles per gallon
.
Volume of concrete needed is
58 2/3 * 18 1/2 * 3/4
Or course, we change the mixed number to an improper fraction:
(58+2/3) * (18+1/2) * 3/4
(174/3+2/3) * (36/2+1/2) * 3/4
176/3 * 37/2 * 3/4
(176*37*3)/(3*2*4)
(19536)/(24)
814 cubic feet
.
Then because [1 cubic yd = 27 cubic feet]:
814/27 = 30.148 cubic yard
rounding
30 cubic yard
