Im not sure how to work with fractions when the denominator is the unknown + a number.

Solve for x:
Multiply both sides by x.
Next, multiply both sides by (x+2).
Simplify the right side.
Subtract 3x from both sides.
Finally, divide both sides by 2.

clear the denominator on the right side. Multiply both sides by x
clear the denominator on the left side y multiplying both sides by (x+2)
expand using distribution
isolate like terms (subtrsct 3x from both sides)
isolate x by dividing both sides by 2
