: The Madison High School marching band sold solid color gift wrap for $4 per roll and print gift wrap for $6 per roll. The total number of rolls sold was 480, and the total amount of money collected was $2340. How many of each kind of gift wrap were sold? This question is from textbook

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4X+6(480-X)=2340
4X+2880-6X=2340
-2X=2340-2880
-2X=-540
X=540/-2-
X=270 WAS THE NUMBER OF $4 ROLLS SOLD.
480-270=210 WAS THE NUMBER OF $6 ROLLS SOLD.
PROOF:
4*270+6*210=2340
1080+1260=2340
2340=2340
