Question 137141: how far apart are the y-intercepts of the line with the equation y=2x+3 and the line that goes through the point (4,2) and has a slope of negative one?
well first of all i found the other equation through the point slope formula which turned out to be
y=-x+6
is that right
if it is how do i do the rest of the question
thanks for any help you can provide

how far apart are the y-intercepts of the line with the equation y=2x+3 and the line that goes through the point (4,2)
-------------------
The y-intercetp of the line y=2x+3 is (0,3).
There are an infinite number of lines that go thru the point (4,2)
and each one has a different y-intercept.
