Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6-1 1/5-1 1/3
can subtract second from first and get 4 4/5
6 is 30/5, and 1 1/5 is 6/5 so their difference is 24/5
15 is common denominator with this and 1 1/3, which is 4/3 or 20/15
24/5 is 72/15
72/15-20/15 is 52/15 or 3 7/15 gallons
by decimals can do a rough check
5-1.2=4.8
4.8-1.33=3.47 and 7/15 is 0.46667 or 0.47 so checks.
