Let x be the distance under the question.


Then you have this "time" equation


 -  = 2  minutes.           <<<---=== Every fraction on the left side is the time to cover the distance . . . 


To solve it, multiply both sides by 315*420. You wiil get


420x - 315x = 2*315*420


105x = 264600


x =  = 2520 ft.     ANSWER


CHECK.    = 8 minutes;    = 6 minutes;   8 - 6 = 2 minutes.   ! Correct !
