Question 1053255: In your class, you have scores of 95, 87, 77, and 79 on the first four of five test. To get a grad of B, the average of the first five tests scores must be greater than or equal to 80 and less than 90.. Solve the inequality to find the range of the score that you need on the last test to get a B.
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
average=total/n
80=400/5
90=450/5
The sum of 4 is 338
400<=338+x<450
subtract 338 from everything
62<=x<112
62<=x, for all practical purposes. If the person gets greater than or equal to 62, they get a B. They can't get an A, unless there is extra credit that allows a score of 112.
